Western Pet Foods was established in the early 1980's as one of the first barn style pet specialty retail outlets in Australia. It has been under the current ownership since 1997 when it was still principally a retail outlet selling a wide range of pet food, health, grooming and accessory products.

Under the current ownership it has expanded its wholesale operation to the extent that it is now one of the principal pet product suppliers & distributors to the pet trade in New South Wales and, through its affiliated company Hay You Pet Supplies, in Queensland. Western's strengths rest in its family based, "can do", low cost model with an eye to service and competitiveness providing an industry standard.
